  1. We used OzSquad in the lead up to a Tough Mudder Event which we participated in as a corporate team. Carly is an incredibly motivational leader and trainer and assisted in breaking down the barriers between us as colleagues and working together as a team, which is what Tough Mudder is really all about. She was conscientious of individual’s strengths and weaknesses, and helped us work through these each week. Every training session was different and by the end of our 8 week prep you could really see the team had come together and collectively broken both fitness and personal barriers. I’d definitely recommend Carly and her training to anyone, particularly those interested in an event like Tough Mudder.

  2. After 3 years with OzSquad, I’m not only going to give credit for pushing me way beyond what I expected in my fitness goals, but also in establishing much of my social network in Manly. A bit of friendly competition in the sessions has a huge impact on my results, and the welcoming environment means it’s a no brainer for me to highly recommend OzSquad. Just watch out for mentions of “the Ox” session with the burpee broad jumps 😉

  3. I have never got results from my exercise like I do now from Carly’s sessions.
    The sessions are really varied, the people are great and the sun rise over the ocean doesn’t hurt. I would not hesitate to recommend guys and girls of all fitness levels to give OzSquad a go.

  4. I am ‘from’ Manly. I started with OzSquad’s ‘Learn to Run’ course. The first roaming boot camp I did, I thought I was going to chunder. I didn’t. My husband trialled it; ‘boot camps aren’t for me’
    I stuck it out with with running course; from hating running, I finished a half marathon!
    Three years later: OzSquad is such a part of our lives – it’s helped us to push ourselves physically and has been a way to make friends in Manly.
    Despite a serious injury which has meant I can’t participate, OzSquad has been there for me and I’ve been referred to the best clinicians for the job at every stage.
    I have pushed myself past what I ever thought I could achieve with OzSquad – and I intend to continue that – once I’m cleared from my medical team!

  5. Can’t recommend OzSquad highly enough! Not only is it brilliant exercise – every session is different so lots of choice every day – it’s also really social with awesome activities at the weekends! Carly and her fabulous team have taken me from being unable to run for 5 mins to 50kms through the blue mountains! The group is friendly and supportive and the trainers cater to all fitness and abilities levels

OzSquad’s claim that it is the most social bootcamp is completely warranted, I’ve made lifelong friends here, it’s tough, it’s challenging, some mornings it’s really cold and windy and others, the sunrise is so amazing you don’t know why you’d ever be anywhere else, but whatever is going on, it’s fun, we train hard and party just as hard, if you are looking for a bootcamp to motivate you and add some fun to your life, look no further Manly people!

  9. Before joining OzSquad, I hadn’t run further than 10km. I’m writing this fresh off the back of completing my first ultra marathon – the UTA 50 in the Blue Mountains. I’ve been training with Carly & OzSquad for 3 years and I can honestly say I’ve never known a trainer to go above & beyond as much as Carly does. She leads by example in her fitness & her commitment to helping her OzSquaders achieve their goals is second to none. Join OzSquad and you’ll meet some awesome people, get fit whilst having fun, and you might just achieve what you thought was ‘unachievable’.

  11. After struggling through years of sporadic bursts of uninspiring gym sessions, OzSquad is literally a breath fresh air. Once you can get your head around the 5.45am wake-up, Carly’s energy filled sessions take the monotony(and thinking) out of your exercise as no two workouts are the same, and with a different beach, harbour-side or grassy knoll location every time, it’s hard not to feel energised for the rest of your day. No more fighting for equipment from anonymous self absorbed gym junkies, you’ll just be flicking the sand out of your pants and having a laugh with your new OzSquad buddies!

  12. Carly makes every bootcamp session different, creatively making the most of the natural surroundings and tailoring each session to whichever area chosen. No two classes are ever the same and she is always using different ideas keeping the sessions fresh, fun and interesting and ensuring motivational levels are always maintained. Every level is catered for but you know that you will always be pushed to your limit and that you will always get a great work out. It’s a great way to get fit and meet people, Carly is a great trainer- knowledgeable, supportive and fun and I would highly recommend her and her bootcamp classes!

She has already built my confidence (and muscle!) and I can do much more than I thought would be possible in such a short space of time. Carly knows how to motivate me and always keeps the exercise interesting and varied so I never have the chance to dread anything! I really like that I can feel myself improving in terms of strength, muscle tone and cardio ability.   19. “I have a little voice in my head that tells me not to exercise: “You can’t run that far, you can’t do push ups and pull ups, they are for men, go and relax, eat that chocolate in the back of the cupboard, no one will know, you deserve it” Now I have another voice, not in my head, but in my EAR twice a week telling me to run over there, sprint up those stairs, do sit ups in 4 different ways, do burpees and squats ON THE SAND!! Twice a week I pay for that voice to drown out the other voice. Is it worth it? Absolutely!! Carly is a great trainer, she works you hard, she gives you plans, she gets to know what motivates you and mixes it up every week so you never get bored. Stop spending money on chocolate, buy some PT sessions from Carly, your fat backside will thank you!”

  21. “I used to run, so I guess that made me a runner. Until I joined Carly’s beginner run group with OzSquad I realized I had no idea what I was doing. I learned technique and breathing tips that I will use for the rest of my life, and every week I try to run a little bit further. I teach yoga and am a yogi at heart, but I had no idea how much running could ground me as much as my yoga. I put my running shoes on now and head out the door without even thinking twice about it. I had so much fun training with Carly that my outlook on running is so new and fresh now. I love it. Today I have a balanced fitness regime of my everyday yoga practice and 3-4 runs a week.   22. I’ve been personal training with Carly since I moved to Manly earlier this year and I’ve seen a huge improvement in both my strength and cardio fitness. I’m now running half marathon distances and completing Tough Mudder courses (monkey bars and all)… and actually enjoying it! Carly’s sessions are always varied which keeps things interesting – she pushes you hard, but always does it with a smile! I can’t recommend her training highly enough.

  24. “I have never been a sporty person, in fact I did almost no exercise up till the age of 27 (I was one of those sport dodgers at school). I decided that something needed to change when I moved to Australia and I signed up to OzSquad. I have certainly been put through my paces and have turned from a couch potato into a bit of a fitness freak – I find the classes loads of fun and I feel so much better from going to them, even getting up at 6am is ok these days! After 4 months of bootcamp sessions I ran the Tough Bloke Challenge and came 137 out of 5,500 – a massive achievement for a sofa surfer! Thanks OzSquad!’

I signed up 6 months ago and I’m still going. 2 years ago I couldn’t run 1km, last year I managed 5km but Carly has got me running – non-stop – 10km and I’m on-track to finish the City2Surf. Carly is calm but gets results – I wouldn’t go to a bootcamp if the trainer was shouty and up themselves. It’s a mixed bunch that goes so I feel comfortable, except when it’s burpees!”
