OzSquad Saturday Series

Trail Run Series and Tough Mudder Training Programme

OzSquad’s Saturday Series will get you Tough Mudder ready.

Yep, you will get muddy. Yep, you will have fun.

What is the Saturday Series?

Six Saturday morning sessions specifically designed to get you used to running long distances and tackling obstacles. The sessions will combine running trails, beaches and a few roads as well as circuits along the way that will build strength, endurance and technique for the obstacles. The distance each week will range from 8km to 16km. There will also be a few surprises!

Even if entering Tough Mudder doesn’t float your boat, feel free to sign up just for the Saturday Series to get you out running some of the North Shore’s best routes with fellow OzSquadders.

When is the Saturday Series?

8.00am, starts Saturday 31 August for six consecutive Saturdays until Tough Mudder on Saturday 12October.

Where is the Saturday Series?

Various locations as below, meeting points vary and will be confirmed prior to the session. Car pools can be arranged.

Week 1 – Manly Dam (approx. 8km)

The Event itself…

“Tough Mudder – it’s really hard and they electrocute you right?”

Tough Mudder is a hard-core off-road obstacle course designed by British Special Forces, involving mud, fire, ice, more mud and a fair few mentally and physically challenging obstacles.

Yes, it’s about 20km long. Yes, some of the obstacles are just plain nasty. Yes, you will probably have to throw away your trainers after it.

But hold up!

It is one of the best events that I have ever taken part in. Tough Mudder have a unique philosophy. The event is completed as a team, it isn’t timed and therefore the only aim is to get you and your team-mates around the course. Taking away the clock removes the competition and everyone genuinely helps everyone else around the course.

It’s a great challenge and a great day out.

And here’s the electric shock small print.  If the only reason you are not entering Tough Mudder is because of fear of the electric shock obstacle – stop the press – walk round that obstacle. This event is about pushing your own personal limits, getting to the end and having a laugh.  Better to complete 95% of the course than sit on the sofa.
